Violet Rose Lilac Glitter Polish

The third polish I have to show you from Violet Rose Polish is a really pretty lilac glitter. This comes with a matching ring and there are three colours to choose from; Pink, Turquoise and Lilac.

Handmade Nail Polish (5ml) and Matching Ring

It is such a pretty sparkly glitter and the fact that it comes with a matching ring is such a nice touch.

The size of the ring can be altered to fit which ever finger you prefer. As it comes it fits on my ring finger and I love it :)

Now onto the polish...

I decided to swatch the glitter over a pale, medium and dark purple. To do this I did it in a skittles mani style and it looks gorgeous over each colour :) Application is good and I used two coats of glitter but you could use just one depending on how sparkly you want your nails.

Here are some close ups....
Over the top of Ciate 'Poppet'...

Over the top of Mua 'Frozen Yoghurt'....

Over the top of Nicole by OPI 'Make a Change'....

Make sure you go check these polishes out at Violet Rose Polishs' Etsy Shop

It has been a privilege reviewing these gorgeous polishes so Thank you to the lovely Emma for sending them to me :)

Violet Rose Polish - 'The Ice Queen'

Here is the second of my Violet Rose Polishes, it is called 'The Ice Queen' aka Elsa from Disney's Frozen.....

This is such a pretty glitter topper. It applies really well and it is packed with several different glitters. I love to have lots of glitter on so I used two coats. I swatched it first on top of 'Ferris Wheel' by Ciate which is a very pale blue.

I then swatched it on top of Color Club's 'Heirloom Pearls'.....

I absolutely love this combo, it is so pretty and definitely reminds me of the film 'Frozen'.

This polish is available on Violet Rose Polish's Etsy shop so make sure you go and check it out :)

Birchbox - August 2014

Hello Beauty Boxers :) This month's Birchbox theme was 'Away We Go'. Instead of the normal drawstring bag came a plastic make up bag with a lolly print on it. This was nice for a change but I'm not sure how long the zip will last on it.

So, onto the box....

This month it was the first time I actually tried all of the products on the first couple of days of having it.

Above is the Vasanti Brighten up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator. I decided to try this and followed with.....

The Nude Progenius Omega Treatment Oil. These two things were my least favourite items from my box. I wasn't keen on the gritty texture of the rejuvenator but this is just a personal preference. My skin can be quite awkward and I felt that these just weren't suited to me.

My third item was the Number 4 Super Comb Prep and Protect. I really like this and at a full price of£20 it is something I would definitely buy!

Next up is the Wild About Beauty creme eyeshadow. This is a full size item and is worth £13. It is a 'long-lasting, satin finish shadow from Louise Redknapp and Kim Jacob's paraben-free range'

I was very happy that I received this in a colour which will suit me. I also like the packaging and the fact that there is a cute little mirror in the lid.

The final beauty product I received was Supergoop Daily Correct SPF 35 CC cream. I am a big fan of CC and BB creams so was really happy to get this and even happier that it was the right shade for me. I also like the fact that because they are small samples they put two in rather than just one.

As well as beauty products this month there was a chapter sampler book called 'The Proposal' by Tasmina Perry.

What was your favourite item this month?

Violet Rose Glow In The Dark Polish Review

A few weeks ago I offered to be a reviewer for a new indie polish range called Violet Rose. I have three gorgeous polishes to share with you and the first is a neon pink glow in the dark polish called 'Pacha'. It is from a series of polishes named after clubs in the Mediterranean.

As well as glowing in the dark this polish is also scented. The scent is quite subtle but a nice effect. The scent for this polish is (I think) strawberry :)

The polish has a nice brush and even though the formula is quite thick it still applies well. It sort of reminds me of a gel effect polish when applying it. It is a little bit sheer but not too noticeable after three coats. You could however get away with two coats depending on the colour of your natural nail.

It naturally dries to a matte finish but if you prefer the glossy finish you can easily apply a topcoat and it doesn't affect the scent or the glow in the dark effect.

Below are two pics of the matte finish...

Personally I prefer a glossy finish....

This is the first glow in the dark polish that I have ever tried and I have to admit I am obsessed with it. As the hours went on after applying it the glow got stronger and stronger and I could not stop looking at my nails in the dark. Simple things hey :)

These polishes are available from tomorrow on Violet Rose Polish's Etsy page which you can find here!!

Violet Rose Polish also has a Facebook page.

These neon/glow polishes are perfect for clubbing and raves, you will be the talk of the dance floor so be sure to check them out :)

Thanks for reading and keep watching for my next two Violet Rose Polish reviews

Review of Sally Hansen's Magnetic Polishes

I really like the effect you get from magnetic polishes. I have tried a few different brands but I have to say the best ones are these Sally Hansen ones.

So far I have (from left to right) 'Atomic Alloy', 'Silver Elements', 'Ionic Indigo', 'Red-Y-Response' and 'Kinetic Copper'.

Here are a couple of swatch pictures to show you how well they work....

First up is 'Kinetic Copper'

Below is a sunshine pic of 'Red-Y-Response' with a Barry M limited edition confetti glitter as the accent nail.

Here is my favourite, 'Silver Elements'

These polishes are also a great bargain as they can be purchased in Poundland stores :)
